Students were assessed on the first line of inquiry wherein different scenarios were given to express their feelings / emotions related to any one art form of their choice. Students tuned into the second line of inquiry- through a classroom discussion and looked at images and videos that represented different cultures. They gained knowledge about the artwork, music and dance which denote the essence of a particular place or culture. To further enhance their understanding of the unit students attended a guest speaker session by an art curator Mr. Niten Mehta where they observed various paintings and artworks by different artist. In their English classes, students revisited phonograms (ai, ay, ey) and wrote vocabulary words with the same in their journals. The concept of verb was introduced with a life-sized drawing of a child wherein students wrote the words like jump, eat, hold, listen on post-its and pasted them on the body part that pertains to specific actions. They also practiced creative writing and picture composition in their journals. During Math lessons, students were assessed on their understanding of subtraction with a summative assessment. Provocation of the topic ‘patterns’ was done through a ‘Beep-Beep, Vroom-Vroom’ story followed by a discussion about patterns. Prior knowledge was assessed by asking the students to identify different patterns from the classroom. Students documented unique patterns by combining different shapes, in their journals. For their Hindi lessons, students listened the story of ‘Panna Dhai’. They identified new words from the story and enhanced their verbal skills by retelling the story. They revised all matraas like आ, इ, ई etc. During Hindi Ab-intio classes students were introduced to the Vayanjan 'ja' .They revisited all the vayanjans done so far by writing two letter words in their process journals. They enhanced their oral vocabulary by recalling the names of the months or 'Mahino ke naam'. Students explored various tools of “Puppet Edu” the digital story telling app and created a digital story using various emoticons, during ICT lessons. They also expressed how emoticons are used for online communication. In Music students learnt a song on HOLI - aayi Holi re. They practiced to sing the chromatic scale in the ascending and descending order . They even presented the earth song in group. Students learned the grip, neck, head of the racquet and the points/spots on the palm that should be placed on certain grip levels. The grip of the racquet should be based on what feels right for the player with the emphasis that the strings should be facing forward at contact and also learned body position and swinging movement.
