In conjunction with the second line of inquiry ‘Impact of human settlements on landforms’, under the current unit ‘landforms’, students watched various educational videos related to the topic. They illustrated and wrote their understanding of factors like deforestation and mining and how they impact the landforms. A formative assessment was conducted on the second line of inquiry wherein the students spoke about the impact of any one factor on the landform. Students further gained knowledge on the third line of inquiry ‘Responsibilities towards our planet’. They discussed what they can do on their part to protect the planet. They learned about the 4R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle, recreate) and used their creativity to make a poster on the same. In their Art classes, students expressed their understanding of a landscape through their artwork. In their English class, students revisited all the concepts done so far by solving the looping back sheets. Students enhanced their writing skills by writing about their winter vacation. They further honed their listening skills through a listening activity. They were introduced to pronouns through various engaging class activities. They were also assessed on their spellings through a spell bee and wrote sentences with spell bee words of their choice. In their Math classes, students revisited all the concepts done so far by solving the looping back sheets. Students were introduced to the concept of subtraction through manipulatives and a bowling game. They understood the various terms related to subtraction and solved simple subtraction sums using the number line and manipulatives. In ICT, students were introduced to a new iPad app 'Pages', where they are learning to create a digital portfolio with their selfie, texts and emoticons. In their Hindi classes, students shared the memorable moments of their vacation. They enjoyed the video ‘Kathputli ka naach’ and discussed how it works. They recited poem ‘Naavchali,naavchali’ and revised the ‘maatra’ learnt in the class. In the Ab-initio classes, students shared their favourite vacation experience. They revisited the concepts done so far through looping back sheet. In their Music classes, students practiced various techniques of vocal warm ups in western music. They learned the ‘Kookaburra song’ and a motivational song- ‘Umeedon waali dhoop’. In their P.E. classes, students enhanced their motor skills through athletics like jumping, single leg hopping and double leg hopping.
