During English classes, students enhanced their thinking and writing skills with creative writing. They further honed their listening skills through story telling sessions and varied activities based on the story. They were introduced to phonograms (‘ou’ and ‘ow’) and wrote vocabulary words & sentences with the same in their journals. Students revisited the parts of speech - nouns, verbs, adjectives and pronouns through a sorting activity. They were also assessed their spellings with a spell bee and wrote sentences with words of their choice from the bee list. In continuation with the second line of inquiry ‘Expressions through art’, students observed different cultures from India (Bengal culture) and around the world (African culture) through pictures and videos shown to them. They understood the importance of various forms of artwork, music and dance and how they express the essence of the place. Students were assessed on their understanding of the second line of inquiry wherein they illustrated and wrote about what makes them feel happy. They inquired into third line of inquiry ‘Interpretation of art’ and expressed their take on different paintings. In their Math classes, students extended their knowledge and understanding of patterns through various engaging activities. They learned about number patterns and skip counting. They were assessed on their understanding of patterns (shape, color and number) with a formative assessment. Students viewed and learnt the song ‘lakadi ki khathi’,during Hindi lessons .They picked up new vocabulary and revisited the maatras they had learned previously. The Ab-initio students were introduced to ‘vyanjan gha, ra and ka’. They were introduced to animal names in Hindi. During ICT students compiled their digital stories and were given a feedback about their work by their peers. Later, they learned the basics of a computer and it's parts. They enriched their vocabulary by learning new technical terms. They also worked on Microsoft Word to improve their documentation skills. During their P.E. classes, students practiced balancing the lawn tennis ball on the racquet while standing in a stationary position or while moving forward with long strides. They also practiced bouncing the ball on the racquet. They enjoyed playing football too. Music classes engaged students in an interesting music activity wherein they wrote the feelings and emotions they experienced after listening to various classical and pop artists. They also learned about the Indian Ragas and their relevance to a particular time of the day. They learned to sing the solfeges along with hand motions. Students practiced for the UOI presentation during their dance classes.
