In conjunction with the 1st line of inquiry ‘Materials around us’, students explored and discussed properties of different types of materials in the environment. They were assessed on their understanding of the 1st line of inquiry through a formative assessment. Students understood more about the properties of materials like why some materials float and some sink, magnetic & non-magnetic materials etc. through engaging class activities. Art classes saw students create the layout of the mix media artwork that they will commence working on from next week . During English classes, students enhanced their auditory skills through an interesting listening activity. They were introduced to prepositions through videos and activities. They were also assessed on their spellings with a spell bee and constructed sentences with spell bee words of their choice. During Math classes, students were introduced to the concept of symmetrical and asymmetrical things. They enjoyed working with tangrams and geoboards. They also made various 3D shapes using paper templates. They were assessed on their understanding of shapes through a formative assessment In Hindi Ab-initio students drew pictures related to Vyanjans learnt so far like ba, sa, na, la. To improve now we are doing combination of basic hands and feet positions with different type of music with their dance routine also we are working on coordination by using dancing statue . In their Hindi lessons they recited a poem on ‘Rasoi ghar’. They picked up new vocabulary from the poem. They also practiced writing sentences with the same. For the ICT classes, students continued to work on OneNote and explored few other tools on OneNote.
